Channel Catfish
Channel catfish are one of Utah's most reliable warm-water fisheries, feeding primarily by scent rather than sight, which is why cut bait and strong-smelling offerings consistently outproduce artificial lures. They're most active as water warms through late spring and summer, often feeding heaviest after dark when the bite pressure from other predators drops off. Because they'll hold near structure and drop-offs rather than roam widely, a well-placed bait fished on bottom tends to beat covering a lot of water looking for fish.
