Painted Ball Head Jigs - Black 1/4 Oz.

1/4 oz ball head jig, painted black. Same round head, same straight fall, same hands-off design — the head's only job is getting the bait down and staying out of the way.

Black is the low-light color, and low light is when walleye feed. Their eyes are built to hunt in the dark, which means the fish has the advantage and your bait has to be findable as a shape rather than a color. Nothing throws a harder silhouette than black — against a dusk sky, in muddy water after a blow, or down where the light has run out, a dark bait reads as a clean outline while a bright one smears. Fish it exactly like the white: lift, drop, stay in contact. This is the one to tie on when the sun drops and the white stops getting bit.
